About the Author
Douglas Ewan Cameron Douglas Ewan Cameron is a Professor Emeritus from the Department of Mathematics of The University of Akron (Akron, OH). Upon retirement he and his wife took up residence for half the year on the shore of Hubbard Lake (Spruce MI), which basically is the setting for his Up North stories. The other half of the year is spent in Copley OH where they lived while working and it is from there they do most of their traveling. They have visited all seven continents and over one hundred countries. Places they have visited have become settings in his books including Hong Kong, which is important in Wings of a Butterfly. He has written all his life albeit research papers while he was working and short stories in his youth. Retirement has given him time to fish and write, both past times he loves. LOVE THIS BOOK!

Anna Kiper was my first Semester Concepts teacher at Parsons The New School for Design in New York. Her illustrations are amazing. What i love about her book is that is shows marker rendering against painting, she makes them look identical. Also, fabric rendering techniques are amazing, really influenced me as a designer. I love her!

LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

I have never seen an illustration book as beautiful as this one and the bonus is the price tag. Anna Kiper is very talented and looking through the book is an absolute delight. If you are an aspiring fashion illustrator or a fashion designer this book is a treat, the most important part is that she makes it so much easier to illustrate difficult things and make them look realistic. Who would think to use a sand paper to create a perfect tweed texture, or use an actual tulle to illustrate one in seconds? Well, she has million of shortcuts like these.

Anna Kiper is my art and design professor at FIT in New York, NY and this book is an exact material that we learn in class, so if you don't have the time to attend her classes, this is the best next thing.

What a great way to learn rendering! Anna Kiper provides modern day techniques to make beginners learn fashion art with style. Her book is comprehensive and a work of art in itself! I would recommend this book to any one interested in learning about fashion illustration! Great buy!

book on the market. This book will give caregivers all the tools they
need to file a successful claim for veterans benefits. It is the go-to
resource.

The book contains the most essential information, based on the
long experience of the authors; The Senior Veterans Service Alliance.
The biggest problem that you face when confronting veterans claims for
the first time is figuring out what is important and what is not. This
book contains data that You won't find anywhere else. And the data
goes right to the heart of filing successful claims. I recommend it

This is a must have book

I purchased this book to assist me in applying for benefits for my mother after my father (the veteran) passed away. Mom is 90 years old and has Alzheimers Disease. She is in a memory care unit at an assisted living facility. The word on the street was approval for death pension with aid & attendance can take a year or more. I followed the methods detailed in this book for and submitted all documentation together, a fully developed claim, on July 9th. The benefit was approved on July 30th, although I did not receive notice of the approval until late August. I could not have done it without the help of this book. It is well worth the money I paid for it.

A Great Resource!

I work with veterans on a weekly basis trying to help them receive benefits from the government. This book is a very resourceful tool that I have read and loved since I purchased it a couple weeks ago. The data disk is complete with all the forms you need to apply for the benefits. All the information is straightforward and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone facing the difficult task of applying for benefits. I used to make a lot of mistakes and claims would take months and months to prepare and process. Now the process is much quicker for me and my clients. I am very satisfied with this book.

Progressively From Great to Just Acceptable

When I first started to read this book, I became incredibly excited. I have parsed through a number of books on Kalman Filtering and have found that almost all of them are framed in such excessively abstract mathematical terms that the time invested was in fact wasted. The start of the book is incredibly reader friendly; statistical concepts are introduced from very simple concepts. The text then progresses to more difficult subjects like random signals and does a reasonably good job at delivering understanding. In fact, this book has one of the better discussions of statistical signal processing that I have ever seen. This largely stems from a very large number of worked examples that are of great assistance.

As the difficulty of the subject matter increases, the quality of the pedagogy decreases. The treatment of Kalman Filtering is reasonable but becomes increasingly abstract. I found myself relying heavily on the little intuition I had gained from reading other terribly written books in the field. As such, I must caution potential readers that this book is not a good introductory book. Zarchan and Musoff is the place to start in my view; once you have developed an understanding of Kalman Filtering from this perspective, Brown/Hwang will broach the more difficult aspects of kalman filtering in the context of statistical signal processing.

The need for a pedagogical text that deals with more complex considerations of kalman filtering remains.

A good treatment of the topic, but be cautious of implementation

This book is a very good treatment of Kalman filtering, both for those new to the concept, as well as those looking for a deeper explanation of approaches to common practical problems including:

data lags
suboptimal modeling
computational load
sequential measurement handling

There is a section with a competent handling of a GPS standalone filter, however, the section on GPS+INS integration seems to cut many corners leaving much to be desired. For more information on sensor fusion in this specific field I recommend
1) Principles of GNSS, Inertial, and Multi-Sensor Integrated Navigation Systems by Groves as a primary reference.
2) Aided Navigation by Jay A. Farrell as a secondary reference since it has a better treatment of coordinate frames and quaternion representations.

Intro to Kalman Filtering

This book is great for an introduction to the probabilistic and stochastic pre-requisites for Kalman Filtering including the fundamental theoretical derivations and analysis of Kalman Filters and some of its extensions. I would use this book as a first book on Kalman Filtering along with Gelb's, Applied Optimal Estimation, in order to learn the fundamentals, followed by more advanced books depending upon the applications such as GNC,INS,GPS, GNSS, Radar, Finance, Econometrics, etc.

What Has She Gone And Done..

Wow, this was some great debut I missed, that came up as a Kindle Recommendation after I read "My Girl "... Jack Jordan is definitely a new author to look out for... An excellent , yet disturbing thriller with constant high tension and suspense all the way to the way.. All the characters were developed well , even though the have no redeeming qualities at all .. You will probably hate this "Family" their so dysfunctional.. Even the killer, I had mixed emotions over , because "two wrongs don't make a right "... Who knows how a mother will react when caught up in a beloved child's situation or even what consequences may come. We even know what goes on from the "News".. So, the plot could even be plausible. With the very shocking and climatic ending you may be saying "What comes around goes Around ".. Then there is even a second conclusion over someone's very painful and suffering , confession, written in bloody words.

The "Leighton Family" is literally falling apart and caught in between is a little innocent boy... All wrong decisions made by everyone , including the husband , Michael that is just killing them all... Louise suffering from a broken heart or should I say black heart runs away. Brooke feeling guilty goes missing. Michael an adulterer and embezzler is looking at jail time... Little Dominic , confused and lost. A stalker obsessed with tormenting and "Revenge ".. You read and decide who's right or wrong or maybe both wrong in the end..

Horrible ! Nothing to redeem it. Not a likable character except for the neglected son that no one cares about it. It fails as horror and fails as tragedy. All tears but no character with any humanity except for the little boy. Drivel.

who is so innocent and sweet, that I had great empathy for throughout the ...

I really wasn't to sure about this book when I first started it yet the author had me really intrigued. I couldn't have put it down even if I had wanted to. I had to know what secret Louise and her daughter Brooke were hiding and boy what a secret it is.

From the start the reader realises straight away that the Leighton family has some serious issues to deal with but they are not quite as straight forward as we are led to believe. As the story unfolds my perception of Louise, Michael and Brooke changed, there is only Dominic the son, who is so innocent and sweet, that I had great empathy for throughout the book.

Anything for Her is a gripping read which by the end of the book my heart was beating ten to the dozen. The story is quite gruelling in parts and it certainly is not one for the faint hearted. If like me though, you like to be shocked by unexpected twists you will love this.

A definite must read that messes with your head.
