Fantastic story

I did not read this until after I had seen the movie, so I had the visuals playing in my head as I read, down to Newt's awkward lovability and Jacob's wonder. Even without seeing the movie first, though, this screenplay gives you enough story to be able to appreciate the dangers of this new Wizarding world.

The information is solid but if you've worked your way to being a tech like I did you're still going to need to buy a textbook to fill in the information. I suppose that if you already know the terms and way the ASE thinks, then this is all you would need to get ready for the exam. But for most of us, you're still going to need another source of learning to accurately answer the questions.

These guides are really helpful if you know how to use it

I purchased this book because i never had a A1: Engine Repair study guide. So I read the materials and took all the practice tests and reviewed what I knew and didn't knew. As long as you read the materials and understand what is asked of you and you have to KNOW why you got the questions wrong so you can score much higher in the ACTUAL test! 1st attempt w/o it:24/50 sooooo FAILED....2nd attempt with this study guide :40/50 A1 CERTIFIED!

Useful Training for ASE Preparation

I used this book as my primarily preparation to take an ASE test for the first time. I had already taken automotive classes at an Education Cultural Complex (part of San Diego City College District), then worked in the industry as an auto mechanic for two years. There were no exact matches to questions in the book that actually showed up on the ASE exams. By using these practice tests as a guide to see where I was weak worked out pretty well. When I had problems answering questions, I would resort to my text books or other sources to beef up my knowledge. I felt that this book worked for me using that approach to prepare for the exam. I also felt that my knowledge as a mechanic increased. I passed the exam easily. I don't believe that this book alone is the silver bullet to pass an ASE exam. It is a great tool to use in order to see where your knowledge stands. I even purchased practice exams from ASE and only one exact question showed up on the test. There are some quality control issues such as questions that don't have the correct illustration. There is one or two like that per book.

Don't turn the page!

I wandered into the room of my best friend's three-year-old son, preparing to read him a book before he went to bed. When I saw this book among the pile on his floor, I got nostalgic. Really nostalgic. My mom read me the same book when I was his age, and I love, LOVE this book.
Not only does it teach you that sometimes the answer to all of your questions is right in front of you, but it does so by giving you pages of Grover, one of the most hysterical, lovable Muppets. The rattling of Grover's nerves, and the actual building of suspense in a picture book, keep the reader turning the book's pages -- even though Grover BEGS you not to do so. The reader is actually included in the narrative, for the book involves only Grover talking to the reader. The book thus becomes involving very quickly and entertaining throughout it.
Plus, the final punchline is a great payoff.
If you have children, this is an absolute must. Unlike other books from children's shows, this one's intelligent, maintains proper values and isn't beat-me-over-the-head annoying.

Destiny, Fate, and Self-Knowledge

_The Monster At The End Of This Book_ (henceforth "TMATEOTB") is a fascinating treatise on several of the philosophical problems lurking at the core of modern and classical thought. The premise -- that, with the turn of each page, the reader brings self-described "lovable, furry Grover" closer to danger at the hands of the title monster -- allows one to question the very nature of free will and destiny. Is Grover doomed to encounter the monster? The conceit that it is the act of turning pages -- the literal act of reading itself -- that causes the ending to come about inevitably leads to the question: Would the book end differently if one _didn't_ finish reading it? On another level, TMATEOTB addresses one of the paradoxes of contemporary physics: The equality of space and time. The "end of the book" is an event in the future, but the monster is not spoken of as "arriving", but as _already being there_. Thus, turning pages moves the reader and Grover not only forward in time, as in most traditional literature, but also forward in space, leading to the perilous End of the Book. Lastly, TMATEOTB is about how we are ultimately at the whim of the cosmic forces that shape our lives. The hapless protagonist tries again and again to stop the reader from turning pages by erecting brick walls and nailing one page to the other. His efforts are futile, but he remains unaware of his essential helplessness in the face of a Reader. Perhaps, the book says, we are ultimately doomed to fail, trapped within the pages of cosmic irony, but unable to prevent or even perceive the inevitability of our encounter with the monster. The shocking twist ending wraps up the disparate threads of the text, presenting issues of self-knowledge, the nature of fear, and the question of what it truly means to be a monster. Perhaps the failure of our quests for safety in an uncertain world isn't so bad, it argues, if it leads to a confrontation like the one depicted in _The Monster At The End Of This Book_.

Why did they have to add Elmo

As a child I read "Monster at the End of the Book" and loved it. My question is why did they have to write pretty much the same story and add Elmo. Must he poke his little red head into every aspect of Seasame Street there is. The story lost some of its suspence when he was added. The children in my class when I read the first book they were the ones pushing Grover through the story. In this one Elmo is pushing Grover along and not the children. If you are looking for a great book for your children pick the first one and leave Elmo out.

P.S I have read this with Early Childhood classrooms and Special Education.

Exceptional

Inside this exception book by author, David Herzog, we are taken on a healing journey. This is not your normal healing book, but one that takes you a little deeper than you probably have ever been before. David covers so many topics such as: Cleansing -Super Natural Foods - Weight Loss - Minds and Thoughts , Age Reversal, and more. Inside each one of these gems you will find information that covers the latest discoveries, scientific information and Spiritual. You will learn about foods that truly can make a difference and how important your mind is to your body.
I found this book to be exceptional in all ways. The information is new and fresh and what I loved the most is how David joins every area with God. You just cannot separate your body from your Spirit and from the Lord. It is all intertwined and your health wraps around it as well. David gives you straight forward advise, he doesn't pull any punches and he writes it all in a free flowing easy to understand manner. This is a book that you will refer to time and time again. One that has information that will surprise and delight you. I recommend this read. I believe it has something for everyone and will definitely help you on your journey to better health.

This is the very best book regarding "health" in general that I have ever read. It gives specifics about what to do, what to eat, what to THINK, which will indeed work together to improve a person's health. This book is worth every penny and every minute spent reading it.

The importance of health

This book by David Herzog is an excellent tool for anyone who wants to get healthy and stay healthy. There's nothing like God's creation to pave the road to supernatural health. David tells us how to use natural foods to give the body what it needs to heal. The mind is another fascinating and crucial part of one's healing. Learning how to think and what stinking thinking actually does to bring illness into the body is discussed in the book as well. David packs a wealth of valuable health information into a very compact book. He discusses the power of the words we speak, and drives home the reality of their impact on our health. If you are tired of being tired, disillusioned with prescription drugs, sick of being sick, and looking for a natural way to health, this book is for you!
