About the Author
Dr. John K. Shank is a professor in the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth and a visiting professor each winter term at the Olin Graduate School at Babson College. His teaching assignments include required and elective courses in the Tuck and Olin MBA programs. Professor Shank has published 16 books, more than 100 case studies and more than 100 articles in leading journals in accounting, finance and management. His current research interests center around the strategic cost management theme. Professor Shank holds the AB degree from Oberlin College, the MBA degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and the Ph.D. in accounting from The Ohio State University. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi, the American Accounting Association, the AICPA, and the IMA. Before joining the Amos Tuck Faculty, he taught at The Ohio State University for eight years and The Harvard Business School for seven years.

Funny sells

Really appreciate the humor that pervades the delightful cartoons in this book. It plays on stereotypes like the suburban soccer mom and dissects the details behind character design with classic types of characters, sections highlighting each facial feature, and versions of the same characters showing different emotional expression. I like that the text is brief, uplifting in its humor, and unobtrusive enough to let the visual guides take up the most space.

Very cool idea book

I have been a frustrated cartoonist since I was six. In my professional career, I have attempted to use cartoons to illustrate points in presentations and marketing pieces. This book gave me the pointers to make my doodles come to life with much more impact. It was well organized and brought into focus concepts that were evading my attempts to draw my own cartoons. The book made the "secrets" seem obvious and simple. This is a must have for anyone who wants their doodles to do more than just decorate the margins of their notes.

On re-reading this book (after initially using it as an undergraduate on clinic) I felt the following points were apparent: good content and use of colour clinical photos with a nice layout and formatting of text, good use of diagrams and colour to highlight the text, a comprehensive section on eruption dates, etc. v useful and, although not exhaustive, the ortho chapters were also useful for quick reference. About the Author
Angus Cameron completed dentistry at the University of Sydney in 1984 and began work as a junior dental officer at Westmead. He joined the Department of Paediatric Dentistry as a registrar in 1987 and was the first to complete the Master of Dental Science degree in Paediatric Dentistry in NSW in 1991. Angus was appointed a specialist in 1992 and became Head of Department in 1997. He is currently Clinical Associate Professor and Head of Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Sydney and Visiting Senior Specialist at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Angus was also appointed Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide and is currently the Registrar (Special Field Streams) of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. In 2007, he was elected a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Angus is co-editor of the Handbook of Paediatric Dentistry, now in its 3rd edition and translated into six languages. His major clinical interests are in the areas of paediatric oral medicine and pathology, dental anomalies and craniofacial biology.

Dr Widmer received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Melbourne and his Masters Degree in Paediatric Dentistry also from the University of Melbourne. The majority of his paediatric clinical practice over the last 25 years has been at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health and The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
He is a very active clinician and lecturer, presenting to students and graduates in all branches of the health sciences, as well as being invited to present at conferences, both locally and internationally.
Dr Widmer is currently the Associate Clinical Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Sydney and Director of the Dental Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. He is a past President of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry , the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry.

In ancient Britain, the natives followed a religion based on the Goddess of the Moon. When the ancient Druids came with the Celts to the British Isles, they brought with them solar worship of a Sun God. Rather than force their beliefs onto the people, they combined the two, becoming the Priests of this all-encompassing faith. Today, what we base on these ancient traditions is called Celtic Wicca or Witchcraft.

There are many books written by scholars about the Druids. The Lost Books of Merlyn is also written by a scholar of the ancient teachings, but with one difference: Douglas Monroe presents the information so that you can use it today, for personal transformation and growth.

There are three sections or "books" here which are derived from an ancient manuscript called "The Book of Pheryllt." He uses the ancient texts to recreate the lore and legends of the ancient Celts. But this is not just a book of stories. Within each story is the wisdom of the Druids.

When the Druids roamed the Celtic lands, people knew the meanings within their stories. Today, much of that knowledge has been forgotten. About the Author
Douglas Monroe has been involved in practical Earth magick since his first apprenticeship at age 10. As a boy , he studied classical Magic under the guidance of Israel Regardie, and has studied and taught in the United States, in Britain, and in Argentina. He is founder of the New Forest Centre for Magickal Studies and has made many excursions to Celtic Britain to collect original materials on Druidism and Arthurian Lore. His Method of teaching - here seemingly presented as tales of magic and adventure - has many precedents in the Wisdom Teachings of the East and West, but most truly in the Druidic Tradition that he has followed, and of which he is a foremost exponent.

Not for the Uninitiated

If you are interested in learning 'facts' about Merlin or Druidism, don't look here. This is more of a manual for those practiced in the arts, rather than a book of factual information that helps to solidify a belief in something or to prove another wrong. There are many deep layers to this text and one must be aware of the occult teachings (occult just means 'hidden') to comprehend its relevance. Or it may just open the mind of the one unknowingly seeking self-initiation into the mysteries. But beware, this path is trodden with wrong turns and battles of faith...

A bit disappointing...

So having read his previous book, 21 Lessons of Merlyn I was pleased to see this offered. However after reading it I found it not so pleasing. The narrative was not anywhere near as easy to follow as the first book. The way it jumped around in time I almost thought it had been written by Quentin Tarantino. As for the practical infomation...that was a bit easier to follow. I like the formula of using narative then explaining the practical aspects, and it worked very well in 21 lessons. I just think that the narrative portion missed the mark in this on. I still intend to get the third in the series, The Deep Teachings of Merlyn, at some point, but I won't be getting my hopes of it being as cohesive narratively as the first book up too high for that one.

Marginally Better Sequel

The follow-up companion to "The 21 Lessons of Merlyn", this book is a sincere attempt by the author to put down his personal philosophy, spiritual system and magical work. Using questionable sources, the author comes to conclusions that are highly controversial and difficult to substantiate. Much like its prequel, I recommend this book only as a work of fiction or as a way of separating the truth from the nonsense.

This is a MUST for passing the SPI Exam

I passed my exam this past Saturday and I mainly focused on this CD. The question format is set-up exactly like the actual exam. I only used the study part of the CD. I would go through every chapter and then if I needed further explanation, I would stop on that question and refer to a book I have, as well as look online. I also purchased the Ob/GYN CD and passed that a few months ago! You will not be sorry if you purchase the CD...I am really grateful to Davies for not being outrageously expensive(like some of the other study guides or programs). If you take the time to study this CD and be repetitious...you will pass! Good luck and thank you DAVIES!!!!

I'm a Cardiac Sonographer student ready to take the PSI test, i bought this interactive cd to review all my notes, and is a real time test that let you practice as much as you want with more than 600 answers and questions with lots of images and you can customize it per sections if you want, this is all you need to get ready for the test, is a MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!

I will highly recommend this CD for the SPI exam. I just took the SPI exam and I aced it. Not only the review questions were on point but it gives you good explanations on the questions you answer wrong and in what book and pages to find them if you'd like to read more about that particular question. Excellent review for the SPI exam :)

A little dissappointed

The content is great and well worth the purchase, but I'm not impressed that it keeps referring to volume 3 of the standard edition where there is no difference between the two. I would have preferred paying a little more for them to include all the content in one book so that I can have one source of reference.
